We love snow in this home...

Such a beautiful snow fall in Brooklyn! We went out this morning for a few minutes to play. We aren't feeling 100% in the Robinson household so our play time was just on our front stoop.
Ms. D was not complaining!

Thankful....

for my Bible Study girls who are cool enough to sing Christmas carols at our Chrismas party! It wasn't even my idea to sing...I swear~ but it is one of my fav things to do this time of year (or any time of year:).

O Christmas Tree

The holiday season...la-ti-da

I love this time of year...It gets pretty busy and all down time is spent thinking of what needs to be done next. Thankfully in our families we don't really do presents (Minus Sue who ignores us when we say "We need Nada") and my dad and step mom who flew us to CO as a gift!! But no running from store to store fighting the crowds in this household.

The apartment looks gross as we have things kind of piled up but we are just too lazy to actually go through things. Last night was spent at a friends to celebrate a visit of our San Fran friends who moved away almost 2 years ago. A great time was had by all...I'll let the photos say the rest!
The guests of honor! Katie, Alton and Brian

The hosts! Josh had a great idea of us all poising in front of the tree as if we were at the high school prom. Each couple did a little something different and had us all rolling!

Have you ever seen anything cutier? Alton is such an amazing one year old.

Brian trying to read from the book he just wrote! Check out the book- a great gift idea. 109 Forgotten American Heroes! He wrote it, our other friend did artwork for it and Gabe had a suggested hero make it in the book!

Johanna and I

Katie and our Kohls!

My favorite picture of the evening!

Thanksgiving pictures

We were in Fort Collins for Thanksgiving visiting my dad and step mom! My brother Matt and his wife Carrie also joined us. We had a great time catching up, eating good food, and relaxing.

Here we are around the grub-
Don't mess with a girl and her turkey leg

Carrie just can't wait for the cranberry sauce!

The boys and I took the cars out for a spin....It was a really pretty day out and the scenery was beautiful

That night we went to watch the Denver Nuggets take on the NY Knicks....I wanted the Knicks to win seen that we are from NY BUT the peer pressure of the thousands surrounding me had me cheering for the Nuggets- and they won!

We went to a restaurant called "Brooklyn" beforehand.

Matt and Carrie at the game

Matt and Carrie brought there two pups- Mali and Otis, what sweet dogs! Dakota would have loved playing with her cousins.

O and how can I forget to show this....

Happy Thanksgiving....

Happy T days folks! Hope this finds our friends and family stuffed to the brim ebnjoying time with loved ones. Gabe and I are in Colorado spending time with my dad, step mom, brother and sister in law. Good times. Yesterday was spent eating the most amazing food(obviously we are with two amazing cooks!!) and some scene it Senfield (my dad and step mom kicked our butts)...

This morning we spent some time chilling in the sunshine on the patio watching the pups play (no Ms. D isn't with us...she is being loved on by our good friends in the city- please god help that dog to behave herself!) Then we took my dads cars for a spin in the hills...Two little sports cars whipping around the twists and turns. At one point I said to my dad "I don't want to die!" but we made it to chik-fil-a safely- ahh ya! Sweet tea and chicken balls.

Of to Denver tonight to watch the Knicks and the Nuggets...Fun times- not missing the city one bit- enjoying the fresh air and some space.
Will post some pics once we get home.

Time with Kelli.

This past weekend my college roommates and their hubs were supposed to head our way for the weekend. Didn't have much planned but were looking forward to all being together. Slowly people started backing out (with good reason) and so Ms. Kelli made the trek on her own. One of these days Kelli, Sara and I are going to all chill together....but until then...

We really enjoyed our girlie time and spent Saturday hanging out in Park Slope. We window shopped and got our "Cosby subs" for lunch. We also head into the city to check out Bryant Parks Christmas shops. We got easily side tracked by a Max Brenner booth..he is famous for his chocolate and Kelli and I went to town with a chocolate syringe. We acted like 5th graders and had a great time!! I think she and the fam should move to NY:)

Time with our family.

My dad and step mom were here and they brought us some "Vampires Assistant" movie garb. My brother worked on the movie and always sends this stuff to my dad for their premiere party that they host in CO. You can see how much Dakota enjoyed the hat:)

She was pooped out afterwards

We ran around in the city and went out for a nice meal....ate fat witch brownies on a street corner bc we just couldn't wait!! We had a terrific time...and we get to head out to CO in just a week and a half to party it up on there turf.

The Dolphin People by Torsten Krol

I said I wasn't going to do this with every book I acquire, but this is a special one. I ranted and raved about Krol's other book, Callisto, but I think this one is even better. The 5 second pitch is that it's a postmodern adventure story, but it's really so much more than that. A very entertaining read, but one that stays in your head for a long time. Very thought-provoking. Think of it as Lord of the Flies with adults, or maybe The Swiss Family Robinson on crack. Probably just lost some with that description, but consider yourself warned: this is an intense read. And well worth it. The Dolphin People goes on sale Tuesday, Nov. 17. Buy a copy and tell others about it. It's a fantastic book and deserves a big audience.

A few of my favorite things....

We love the fall! The weather, the colors on the trees, all the fall-esque food....it's my happiest time of year. This years seems a bit short and kind of outta wack but that is another story. The fall happens to bring two of our favorite activities each year.
Apple Picking and Marathon watching!
This year was no exception. Here are a few pics of both activities.

Ms. Radcliff....I believe she came in 4th this year.

Gabe was extremely energized for the race (read bouncing off the wall couldn't carry a normal convo during the race). So we didn't get our annual pic together that actually turned out.

Busy like Bees

So life has been a bit nutsy for us lately. The biggest thing going on is having out of town company in our little- and I mean little- humble abode. Gabe and I are happiest with a full house!

So here are a few pics of the guests....
We really haven't been taking the camera out much~ So these aren't the best.
Susan and Curt flew in from NC...didn't get any pics of all of us!

My dad and step mom came in from CO

Our friend Peter from High School also spent a night with us this past weekend...and my college roommate heads this way tomorrow!

This is what Dakota has been doing while we entertain

Don't ignore my post

It's important that people know how ridiculous that picture is. And by now I'm sure you've seen enough pics of Dakota to last a lifetime.

The blog was hacked into...

By my husband...
For those of you who have no clue what Gabe is talking about in the below post- neither do I....that is a picture of Duke's basketball team. Gabe went to Carolina and as you can guess they are big rivals in NCAA basketball. Please note: Carolina won it all this past year:)

But for my faithful followers I must give you what you really want...pictures of our girl;) Ok maybe not but here you go. I decided to torture the girl for a few minutes and put a turtle neck on her.

Can you get more pathetic?

Words fail me. Kyle Singler's haircut is the scariest thing about this pic.
